Sisters,
When I envisioned Chicago 300 Black Women, I imagined a powerful circle, one where Black women could stand together, uplift one another, and move with a collective strength that cannot be ignored. What began as a simple idea has grown into a movement: a community built on connection, advocacy, and the unwavering belief that when Black women rise, entire communities rise with us.
Chicago is a city rich with brilliance, resilience, and history. Yet too often, Black women carry the weight of leadership without the support we deserve. This organization was created to change that narrative. Here, we celebrate our achievements, confront the challenges that impact us, and build pathways for the next generation of Black women leaders, innovators, caregivers, and creators.
Our mission is bold because we are bold. Our goals are ambitious because we are capable. And our impact is growing because each of you brings your voice, your gifts, and your commitment to the table.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we are shaping a future where Black women in Chicago are seen, valued, and empowered—not in pockets, but in powerful numbers.
With gratitude and purpose,
Tameitha Hicks
Founder, Chicago 300 Black Women

When I stepped into this role as co‑founder, I wasn’t just thinking about today, I was thinking about the future we deserve. Chicago 300 Black Women was born from a simple truth: Black women are the blueprint, and it’s time our power is organized, amplified, and seen at scale.
I’m part of a generation that refuses to wait for permission.

I’m part of a generation that refuses to wait for permission. We build, we innovate, and we create spaces that reflect our brilliance. This organization is exactly that—a space where our ideas, our leadership, and our voices aren’t just welcomed, they’re centered.
Chicago is full of young Black women with vision, talent, and unstoppable drive. My mission is to make sure we have the community, resources, and support to turn that potential into impact. We’re not here to fit into old systems—we’re here to design new ones.
This is just the beginning. We’re building something powerful, something lasting, and something that belongs to all of us.
With love and momentum,

When a mother and daughter decide to build something together, it becomes more than an organization, it becomes a legacy. When a mother and daughter decide to build something together, it becomes more than an organization, it becomes a legacy. Chicago 300 Black Women was born from two generations standing side by side, each bringing her own strength, her own voice, and her own vision for what Black womanhood in Chicago can look like when we lead together.
As a mother, I’ve always believed in the power of showing my daughter what’s possible—not just telling her.
As a daughter, I’ve always believed in honoring the women who paved the way while creating new paths for those coming after me.
Together, we represent the bridge between wisdom and innovation. Between experience and fresh perspective. Between the lessons of the past and the possibilities of the future.
Chicago 300 Black Women is our shared commitment to uplift, empower, and unite Black women across this city. We are building a community where every woman—no matter her age, background, or journey—feels seen, supported, and unstoppable.
This is our bond. This is our purpose. This is our movement.
